Abhi Mehta wants to marry Divya however his father Neeraj opposes this - Not because he does not approve of Divya , but because he believes both Abhi and Divya are too young and should established themselves before getting married. Both the families agree to wait and no formal engagement is made, Even when Divya goes away for six months as planned. Before doing so she ask Abhi to look after her best friend Saakshi, a girl from a broken home.

As a result, Abhi start spending more and more time with Saakshi and Divya and Neerai Suspects a relationship between them that appears to be confirmed when Divya overhears on the telephone that Saakshi is pregnant. Tragedy strikes Saakshi dies but by then both Divya and Neeraj have disowned Abhi, who has offered not explination for the situation, and Neeraj has arranged the marriage of Divya to Bobby Sharma, The head of Sharma Exports who have recently placed a huge and (and life saving) offer with Neeraj’s company.
