There is no better life than the times you enjoy in the warmth of your near and
dear ones. A contented life having a sense of belonging to the land you were
born in. Unfortunately many innocent people across the globe get uprooted due to
the conditions prevailing in the countries of their origin and they are forced
to take shelter in foreign lands. This film "DES HOYAA PARDES" is dramatized
version of a true story of a person, Gurshaan, and his family, who got trapped
in the crossfire of terrorism and the agencies trying to suppress the
terrorists' movement. This film depicts the pain and suffering this family had
to go through in mid 1980's when Punjab, a state of India, was facing a
separatist movement being run by terrorist organizations and fundamentalists.
The film portrays the life of Gurshaan as he had to flee his country and take
refuge in USA and seek political asylum there.
