Talaash is a story of one man's search and his will to survive. An action
thriller in which Arjun (Akshay Kumar) boards a ferocious ride in a timeless
mission. His shallow encounters, his compulsion to love, his requirement to
chase criminals is his survival. His mission advances when he discovers that the
bait to his unsolved puzzle is a sensational young woman - Tina (Kareena Kapoor).
Before Arjun can get Tina, she and her father return home to South Africa.
Racing against time, while his mother's health deteriorates; he swindles into
the world of his subjective targets. He sets off to South Africa, and enters a
life of glamour and crime.
Talaash, being an action thriller, was shot at multiple locations and some even
mobile ones. It was shot in two different continents. Most sets were constructed
in studios in Mumbai. The Art Director, Bijondas Gupta meticulously added life
to inanimate objects under the constraint of time. In particular, the
spectacular interiors of the 'Palace on Wheels' train; three bogies were
constructed on 200 springs.
Shooting took place in several parts of Rajasthan too. Most locations were used
for song and action sequences, including the famous Jaipur Palaces and the main
train station. The entire train was rented out for a week, which has never been
done in the history of the film industry. The train was parked at Alwar station,
on the border of Jaipur and Delhi. The Alwar - Ramgarh route was allotted by the
RTDC for the shoot.
A beautiful beach was located in Dubai to match locations with South Africa,
which happens to be part of the script. A romantic song was shot here with
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.
The entire climax of Talaash has been shot in Cape Town. Unlike other movies,
some scenes and action sequences were shot on the streets of Cape Town. The
action shook the city with the bike chases, aerial action and firing guns in the
middle of the city during rush hours.
Talaash takes you through a journey of action, emotion and entertainment keeping
you on the edge of your seats. So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride!
