Rang Mahal Represents Chitrasen's(Raj Kumar) eternal love for Princess Neel
Kamal(Waheeda Rehman) for whom he built it. Rang Mahal in which he was buried
alive by the kings order for daring to ask for the Princess's hand.
Chitrasen dies with his love for Neel Kamal, that love which continues beyond
the confines of death. As centuries pass his spirit roams the ruins of Rang
Mahal in wait for Neel Kamal's return. The day finally comes Neel
Kamal returns to Rang Mahal, but she's no longer Neel Kamal, she is now Sita.
Nor does she remember Chitrasen or Rang Mahal. What she does know is that she
belongs to her husband Ram(manoj Kumar) and no one else, not even
Chitrasen.Yet, whenever Chitrasen calls out for her, she cant help but go to
him. Sita is torn between the spiritual world and her love for her husband. Her
abrupt disappearances break her husband's heart and drive a wedge
between them. Then one day, her memories of Rang Mahal, Chitrasen & her love for
him return... Will she join her spirit with Chitrasen and finally give him the
freedom to move on or will she go back home to Ram and forget about
