Milan is a story of Radha (Nutan), the lovely daughter of a rich Zamindar who is
ferried across the river everyday by a young boatman, Gopi (Sunil Dutt).
Surrounded by the shimmering waters, a strange bond develops between two people
that society has deemed so unequal. It would seem that such a love is doomed to
die, yet at its core is of such a sweet, innocent intensity that it begins to
look real, so possible. Will Gopi and Radha find true happiness or will the
great chasm of class and wealth tear them apart forever?
