Ritesh (Jackie Shroff) is a film star who lives in the past. Shunned by film makers and hounded by creditors, he becomes an alcoholic. Pooja (Dimple Kapadia) works to support the family. Romi, their child, becomes a silent spectator to their constant fights. Alok (Anupam Kher) saves Pooja from a hoodlum and offers her a job in his firm. Ritesh asks Pooja to choose between her job and house. She leaves. Ritesh wins Romi's custody. He discovers that Romi is going to die of cancer. To keep their child happy, Ritesh and Pooja agree to spend time together. Thrown together under the shadow of their child's death, Ritesh and Pooja rediscover themselves and each other.
