For Elizabeth D’Silva (Liz with Love !), a vivacious young damsel life was
like a rosy dream with Ajay, a brilliant, solitary lover to play the rainbow of
seven hues in the heavens of her life...... But in this otherwise erfect picture
of a dream-life there was one blot-inerasable, ugly and obstnate. And that was
Liz’s uncle whose monetary obsessons could put a dozen Silas Merners to sham-as
miserly mean a man as was ever born. To make Liz’s life a perpetual quest for a
few pennies was the holy mission of her dear old uncle..... Dear ? certainly
not-but unfortunately the only surviving relative of poor Liz; this uncle sat on
her father’s wealth like a venomous sname on a greasure-trove. Liz was in the
habit of thinking and doing things in a big way. She even planned her marriage
with Ajay on such grand and memorable sacle that Ajya was staggered and was
forced to remark to her that perhaps Liz was marrying money instread of an
ordinary Police Officer like Ajay.
Sometimes in her exasperatoin after endless bickerings with her uncle over a few
coins, Liz wished her uncle were extinct and dead ! DEAD ?........... not that
dead perhaps, but dead enough to losen his purse strings and let Liz enjoy life
to the full. But wishes, sometimes, have an uncanny way of coming true. And to
Liz’s horror her uncle did die........ and the death was sudden and swift.
When Ajay in response to Liz’s frantic phone call drove to her house, he found
Liz had fainted away due to the shock of this unwarranted tragedy. The local
doctor pronounced the cause of the uncle’s death as sudden cardiac failure. With
the help of the Father of the local Church. Ajay interred the body of Liz’s
uncle in the grave-yard.
Ajay kept constant company with Liz for a few days so that Liz could overcome
the depressing effects of the shock.......... A few days later Ajay joined his
duties as a police officer......... when a man approached him to help him find
his missing son. The photograph of this son, when produced by the man, started
the wits out of Ajay. It was the photograph of Liz’s uncle whom Ajay himself
helped to bury on that fateful night. When Ajay confronted Liz with this
photograph she vahemently denied that the photograph was of her uncle. “But I
have buried this man knowing him to be your uncle” tells a puzzled
Ajay.............. “But I was unconscious before the body was put in the coffin:
reminded Liz.
Ajay was intrigued ! Did he help bury someone else’s body ? Who was this man
then ? Hurriedly the grave was dug out and the rotting, creaking wooden coffin
was taken out of the umouldy earth. The lid was pried open only to reveal a
vacuum.......... THERE WAS NO BODY ! Nor the local doctor, the grave diggers and
pal-bearers could be found for questioning on this issue. They all had vanished
from the face of this earth like the mysterious missing corpse !
Where had the UNCLE gone ? Was Liz behind this horrible game of the missing
uncle and the dead corpse ? But why ? Ajay deduced that only Liz could lead him
to the clue which would solve this jig-saw puzzle of crime, death and mystery.
But by then Liz too had vanished without a trace...............!
Ajay must now go it alone to unravel this deeply intriguing and sinister
happening. For Ajay everything is at STAKE....... his love, life, reputation and
career. Yes it is B A A Z I of life and death for Ajay........ And YOU would be
his only companious and confedants in this difficult task.
