The Biggest Mystery Film Ever
Directed by Kushan Nandy is another horror/thriller themed flick to join the
many awaited in 2003. The new company of Sarvodaya Visuals belongs to Kiran
Shroff and Kushan Nandy. Way back in June 2000, together they both formed this
production company, which produced several programmers for the small screen and
now they come up with their first production, 88 Antop Hill for the big screen.
88 Antop Hill is a low budget production, which will no doubt raise the spirits
of its audience. Featuring Atul Kulkarni, who already has two other much
anticipated films awaiting with Dum and Satta, the versatlie Rahul Dev, Suchitra
Pillai, Shweta Menon and new discovery Jasmine, 88 Antop Hill revolves around an
address as the name obviously exhibits this by itself. Three murders, six
suspects and one address cook up the kind of film the audience will come across.
The suspense unfolds when Pratyush Shellar (Atul Kulkarni) receives a mysterious
phone call at the late hour of one stormy night. Pratyush is a banker and has a
gorgeous wife, Antara (Suchitra Pillai) and a little daughter. Pratyush has a
dubious secret. After attending that phone call, he leaves home and lands up at
an address. The board outside the place reads 88 Antop Hill. Pratyush enters
inside where unbeknownst to him, danger is eagerly awaiting him. He is not the
only one who is there at that place, instead there are a number of shady
characters with whom Pratyush encounters including an honest cop (Rahul Dev), a
pub dancer, a prostitute (Shweta Menon), a millionaire’s fiancé (Jasmine) and a
blackmailer. What happens when Pratyush arrives at this address. What was the
phone call about? What is the secret that has lured Pratyush there? As evident,
there is a big suspense and a thriller ahead now.
National Award winner, Atul Kulkarni will emerge as an exponent and come up with
his first lead role in 88 Antop Hill. Whereas Rahul Dev and Shweta Menon will
enter into picture in pivotal roles too. 88 Antop Hill would also launch a new
discovery, Jasmine who plays the character of the millionaire’s fiancé.
The film has been shot in just 40 days time at 27 different locales. The
director of this enterprise, Kushan Nandy deserves full marks for making the
film of this genre in such a short time at different locations. The film has all
the right ingredients for the 2003 audience.
